Glasgow SPT Subway

The collaboration with SPT Subway is designed to enhance passenger experience through improved service and convenience, while also driving operational efficiency and cost savings for the network.

  • Opened: December 14, 1896

​

  • Status: It is the third-oldest underground metro system in the world (after London and Budapest), and the only one never to have been expanded beyond its original route.

​

  • Nickname: "Clockwork Orange" – Coined by journalists in the 1980s due to its bright orange train livery and the circular (clockwork) nature of its route.

​

  • Route: A single, circular loop with 15 stations.

ISSUES:​

  • ​The route is NOT DISPLAYED on Google Map​s

  • The ticket machines at the station DOES NOT SHOW THE ROUTE MAP and are frequently out of order (lack of paper for example).

  • LONG QUEUES consistently form at the ticket window and in front of the ticket machines
